The Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Austin Slater on the 10-day injury list Saturday due to a meniscus tear in his right knee.
The move is retroactive to Friday, when Slater was initially in the lineup but was scratched due to the pain.
White Sox manager Will Venable said it isn't yet known if Slater, 32, will require surgery.
Slater is batting .250 with one homer and one RBI in eight games this season.
Slater is in first season with the White Sox. He has a .252 average with 41 homers and 172 RBIs in 642 games with the San Francisco Giants (2017-24), Cincinnati Reds (2024), Baltimore Orioles (2024) and White Sox.
Chicago recalled outfielder Greg Jones from Triple-A Charlotte in a corresponding move. Jones, 27, was batting .129 with one homer and five RBIs in nine games with Charlotte.
