The New England Revolution waived forwards Maxi Urruti and Luis Diaz on Thursday.
Both players were new to the Revolution this season.
Urruti, 34, of Argentina, contributed two goals in 20 MLS matches (five starts).
He has scored 72 goals in 315 MLS matches with Toronto (2013), Portland (2013-15), Dallas (2016-18), Montreal (2019-20), Houston (2021), Austin (2022-23) and New England. He won the 2015 MLS Cup with the Timbers and the 2016 U.S. Open Cup and MLS Supporters' Shield with FC Dallas.
Diaz, 26, of Costa Rica, made his MLS debut this season and registered one assist in 19 matches (one start) for the Revs.
The team did not disclose a reason for the moves, which presumably have opened up roster spots for players from MLS NEXT Pro side Revolution II or the Revolution Academy.
New England (7-11-7, 28 points) is in 11th place in the Eastern Conference, eight points below the playoff line.
