Jobless claims fall further than expected
Unemployment claims fell lower than expected last week in a positive sign that the job market is sustaining recent gains, Bloomberg reports. Applications filed for unemployment benefits decreased by 23,000 to 340,000 for the week ended May 18, according to Labor Department figures.
